Events in Zoldo Valley.
The scheduled events of Zoldo Valley are numerous and diverse, to satisfy every type of expectancies. From sport manifestations to culture without forgetting the tradition of Zoldana people.
I love watching the competition amongst cyclists, which interests me a lot, in fact every year I’m a spectator of Civetta Superbike a race of 41 kilometres opened to all, which unwinds through Alleghe, Zoldo, Palafavera and Selva di Cadore. Instead, for those who prefer walking, the Transcivetta is ideal, an uncompetitive mountain march, in pairs with a route of 23,5 kilometres to the Civetta slopes and finally the Transpelmo, another popular mountain march, opened to everyone, passes from Palafavera and runs around the massive Pelmo.
At the same time there is the Transpelmo for family, opened to families, departing 20 minutes later than the participants of the competition, with 50% lunch discount.
Do you know who Gnaga is? Well, I’ll tell you, she is an old woman who wears wooden clogs, and carries a heavy conical basket on her back, inside the basket springs up a young smiling person, and guess who the youngster is? Come on take a guess, certainly it is Carnival, which is celebrated every year in Zoldana to greet the winter off, and prepare for the advent of spring.
I guess you don’t know what a paaruoi is, come to Forno di Zoldo or Mareson on the 5 January, the evening of Epiphany eve and discover for yourself!
If there is anything I like a lot, is listening to classical music, hopefully in a fairytale environment, where man and nature live in close contact, with reciprocal respect, at the foot of one of the most beautiful landscape of the dolomite arch. In the fraction of Fornesighe, the second Saturday of August, an evening of soft and light music is organized, where the notes of the instruments fly lightly in the midst of the rustic village.
